Negative taken for a series of articles on Puerto Rico in the Arkansas Gazette between January 15 and January 24, 1961. The images document the landscape, architectural monuments and people of Puerto Rico and the influence people from Arkansas had in Puerto Rico. Major Werner Knoop of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas and Chris Finkbeiner (in hat) of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas met with Teodore Moscoso (wearing glasses), chief of Puerto Rico's Economic Development Administration, while on a tour of Finkbeiner's meat packing plant in Puerto Rico (1527.09). Finkbeiner established the first meat packing plant on the Island called Primco (1527.06). Deane also visited tourist attractions, including a statue of Ponce De Leon in San Juan, Puerto Rico (1527.16, 1527.18), the old city walls (1527.21), and the Cathedral of San Juan (1527.13, 1527.15).
